Childhood Obesity

Childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects children and adolescents. Children who are obese are above the normal weight for their age and height. Childhood obesity is particularly troubling because the extra pounds often start children on the path to health problems that were once considered adult problems diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Many obese children become obese adults, especially if one or both parents are obese. Childhood obesity can also lead to poor self esteem and depression.

Social health involves your ability to form satisfying interpersonal relationships with others. It also relates to your ability to adapt comfortably to different social situations and act appropriately in a variety of settings. Non communicable or chronic diseases are diseases of long duration and generally slow progression. The four main types of non-communicable diseases are cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes. A combination of genetic, physiological, lifestyle and environmental factors can cause these diseases. Some non-communicable diseases are more common than others. The four main types of non communicable diseases include cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, and diabetes. Non communicable diseases, are by far the leading cause of death in the world, representing 63% of all annual deaths. Non communicable diseases kill more than 36 million people each year.
